Amamoor Lodge

The owner was so kind, even bringing me a piece of homemade cake. From my studio I had lovely views and felt completely surrounded by nature, even though it was easy to find and not far from Gynpie. It’s become my favourite place to stay on my trips. You can feel the love and care put into the beautiful property, and I had one of the best nights’ sleep in ages. Maybe the best ever, the bed was that comfortable.

A private, country-feeling spot with nice rooms. The owner and caretakers were really helpful when I needed a hand fixing my 4WD. Great place.

The first thing I missed on my second night was the room service: the bed was still unmade, the bins still had the previous guest’s rubbish, and there was no milk for coffee. The next morning, at 6:30, the shower water was only lukewarm and wouldn’t heat up. On arrival, I’d also found the TV remote batteries flat and a bin full of beer cans that hadn’t been emptied. I stayed two nights. The older-style room was reasonably comfortable, and the country setting about 20 minutes from Gympie is beautiful. I’d stayed here two years ago and loved the quiet, lush surroundings and charming buildings, so this visit was very disappointing.

We only had one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The room had character, was spotless, and had a really comfortable bed and a great bathroom. The grounds and birdlife were lovely, and it was so quiet and relaxing. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. We also tried takeaway from the local general store. Their hamburgers, made with local produce, were absolutely delicious and next level. We’ll definitely come back.
