Stuart made us feel very welcome, and there were homemade cookies and muffins waiting when we arrived. He also cooked a delicious, healthy breakfast for us in the morning. That was a real highlight of a unique stay, and I hope more people come here. We had the Queen bedroom, with a heated bathroom floor, comfortable beds, and lovely uninterrupted views of both the ocean and river. Falling asleep and waking to the sound of the ocean was beautiful. The house is filled with antiques, art, and decorative pieces. There's also a communal reading room with books, port, and chocolate, where you can sit on the sofa and enjoy the ocean views. The entrance feels private and secluded, with a white stone fountain among tall olive trees and trimmed hedges. Apollo Bay is one of the most beautiful towns on the Great Ocean Road, and Apollo Bay Guest House is a wonderful place to stay.

The ocean view and the sound of the waves were the finishing touch. The photos don't capture how special it feels. Being able to reach the river and shoreline for sunrise was a dream. Our host was amazing, and the rooms and decor had an elegant, antique style. A magical stay.

The beach behind the property is beautiful, and the location is great. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, the house is lovely, and the staff are warm and welcoming. Breakfast was a lovely continental spread. Highly recommended, and we'll certainly be back.

Maree and Vin are wonderful hosts. Her coffee, homemade shortbread, and cooked-to-order breakfast were a real treat. The French-inspired house has lovely furnishings, art, and beautifully kept gardens. It's one of Australia's most beautiful, well-managed guest houses. Both bedrooms in the main house are beautifully furnished, with private bathrooms, picture windows, and private decks overlooking the Barnam River, surf beach, and southern ocean. Guests can use a classic sitting room with custom leadlight windows and a breakfast room overlooking the courtyard. Booking both rooms in the main house effectively gives you a private luxury getaway. One couple can also have similar privacy in the separate studio, which has its own lounge, kitchen facilities, and an upstairs bedroom with stunning ocean views. Highly recommend.

French-style furniture gives this luxurious B&B a fantastic atmosphere. It's beautifully placed overlooking the backwaters and ocean. I wish I could have stayed longer, but with so many other attractions along Great Ocean Road, it's hard to remain in one spot.
