Appin Village Motel

I was in the area for work, but I can't recommend staying here. The room was much smaller than it looked when I booked online, and it smelled. The bathroom was tiny, and the kitchen bench was squeezed between the bed and a wall. The air conditioner looked so old I didn't try it, the TV was tiny and its remote didn't work, and I had to use my own pillows. Spend a bit extra and stay somewhere else.

Check-in was easy, and the room and bathroom were spotless. The bed was comfortable too, and the air con kept the room at a nice temperature overnight without being too noisy. The place is in a great spot, close to the amenities you might need. It was short on crockery and cutlery, though. There was a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, but just two mugs and a teaspoon. Plates and knives and forks would've been useful. A minor hassle, and I'd stay again.

There's an excellent Thai restaurant across the road, and next door you've got a friendly pub, IGA, servo and bottleshop. The staff were friendly and it was great value for money. The rooms have recently been upgraded, so they're fresh and clean, with a microwave, sink, cutlery and crockery in the room.

I went to this place and was utterly disgusted. There were cockroaches scattering across the room when I booked it, then, as I got ready for bed, I found a big fat rat in my pillow. Proceed with caution. 1/5.
