Belgrave Bed and Breakfast

The bed was the highlight of our stay at Belgrave Bed and Breakfast. It was plush and supportive, with lovely linens that made it hard to get up in the morning. Every night felt like sinking into a cloud. The suite was spotless, elegantly and beautifully styled, and arranged with care so we felt at home straight away. From the moment we arrived, it felt like something special, with comfort, charm and genuine care throughout.

The hosts were helpful and communicative, and breakfast was generous, with snacks included. Restaurants, cafes and shops are only a few minutes' walk away, and it's well placed for Puffing Billy. Street directions can be confusing: Apple Maps gets you to the driveway if you enter 11 Monbulk Road, Belgrave, but sends you to nearby Ena Road if you search for ‘Belgrave Bed and Breakfast’. Google and Waze work the other way around. For Google or Waze, search ‘Belgrave Bed and Breakfast’; for Apple Maps, use the street address. Google's driveway plus code is 39R4+X56 Belgrave, Victoria, and the coordinates are -37.9075774, 145.3554005. We stayed for a couple of nights in early March 2025. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and the appliances worked as expected. There's no wardrobe, but a coat and hat stand, a cabinet drawer and drawers in both bedside tables. The older building is in good condition and sits in lovely grounds. There aren't power points beside the bed for charging devices. Hot water fluctuated on one day, but was fine and consistent the next. There was no Wi-Fi, though the phone signal was strong. Off-street parking was available, outdoors and unsecured, but well away from the street. A DVD player and DVDs are in the cabinet under the TV. The apparent keyhole isn't a keyhole, turn the handle clockwise to unlatch it. For after dark, you can leave the outside light on; its switch is just inside, near the top right of the door frame.

Diane helped us before our visit and made sure everything was ready, with really clear instructions for arriving. We had a wonderful time at the Belgrave B&B. The make-your-own breakfast was far more generous than we'd expected, with smoked salmon, sausages, veggies, eggs and more. The location was incredibly convenient, just a few minutes' walk into town.

Dianne made the stay memorable for us, and we'll definitely come back when we're in Victoria. The place was beautiful and cosy, with everything clean and tidy. The old-style room was decorated with great care and taste, while still having modern amenities without losing its vintage feel. The hosts' little touches made us feel welcome and showed they cared, from the generous breakfast tray with so many things to the small chocolates on the bedside tables. The spa bath was nice too. It's super close to both Puffing Billy station and Belgrave station, only a 5-7 minute walk.
