We let reception know in advance that we'd arrive very late, and the friendly staff left the key and map in the lock box. Check-in and returning the key were easy, and the place was simple to find. Reception staff were polite and happy, with nothing to fault there. The renovated kitchen and unusually large bathroom were good, and the two bedrooms were decent. The master was cramped, with just enough space to walk beside the bed. The second bedroom had two sets of bunks, which worked for our two 5'11" daughters and our two youngest. Everyone else found the beds comfortable, but I prefer a very firm mattress. For one night, it was fine. I'm not sure what's next door, but loud announcements over a megaphone could put people off, especially if they stay longer than one or two nights.

We enjoyed our stay. The budget two-bedroom villa was clean, with a lovely shower and very comfortable beds. We didn't cook, but the kitchen had the essentials. There were handy facilities too, including a games room, camp kitchen, barbecue and laundry. Park guests can use the fabulous outdoor pool complex next door for free. The park was easy to find our way around, and after-hours check-in was straightforward. It's well placed for the historic Eureka Stockade area. We had a car, so getting around Ballarat was easy, and the supermarket was about 600m away.

The updated cabins are really nice, and there's lots of greenery around the sites. The pool next door is a great bonus. The tourist spots we visited were around 10 minutes away, so it's a great location. One thing to know: the air-con is in the master bedroom, so it won't do much for the second bedroom if its door is closed. Bring a heater or fan for that room. The standard five-person cabin only fits three comfortably, and then only for a couple of nights.

The cabin was quiet, with a comfy bed and a great shower. Staff and facilities were great too, and the pool next door is free to use. This place is a hidden gem in Ballarat. I'll definitely stay again.

The big shady trees give you plenty of cover, and the toilets and showers are clean. There's a new basketball court that's a hit, and the swimming pool is right next door for family fun in summer. It's only a short drive into Ballarat City.
