Lascelles Ballarat

The house is attractive, centrally placed, and has comfortable beds. But during our cold weekend, the heating barely kept up and we froze. The lighting and smoke alarm system also need attention. Watch the shower too, it’s easy to flood the bathroom, and there’s no bathroom heating, so you’ll want to be quick. A proper maintenance overhaul could make this a great place to stay.

The hosts pointed us to L'espresso just around the corner, and the coffee there turned out to be some of the best we’ve had. The whole family, kids included, enjoyed our stay in this stunning home. Its design is breathtaking, and the shared courtyard is just as lovely. We’d love to return.

May 2019 The apartment was lovely and warm when we arrived from Perth on an exceptionally cold day. There are plenty of heating options, plus electric blankets in the bedroom, which we hadn’t expected and really appreciated. Lascelles is a spacious, very clean place with lovely decor and a fully equipped kitchen. It’s also central, an easy walk from cafes, restaurants, and Lake Wendouree, a major Ballarat attraction. The hosts were easy to reach whenever we had a question. Highly recommended.

There’s a lovely, well kept backyard with a small BBQ and room for the family to sit outside in the afternoon. The six-bedroom townhouse is close to Ballarat’s major attractions. Downstairs has a bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor access. Upstairs are five bedrooms and another bathroom. All the bedrooms have beds, but bedrooms 5 and 6 have no door between them. One concern: a large mirror is resting on the staircase without being attached to the wall, so take care, especially with little kids.
