The location is convenient, with shops and places to eat within walking distance. Apart from that, it wasn't a great experience. The room looked really old and tired. The amenities were rundown, the toilet door's laminate paper was peeling, and there was no hairdryer. It really needs a refurbished bathroom, and the bed was too soft. I won't stay here again unless the price is a lot more competitive with nearby properties, because the room needs refurbishing first.

Even with the place very busy, it wasn't too noisy. The rooms are dated, but very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The ladies at reception were so pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much to ask. I'd definitely stay again.

Four elderly ladies on a weekend away, and we paid full price. The beds were at least clean and comfortable to sleep in, thank goodness, but the room was the worst, I think. It was mouldy, rusty, water damaged and musty as soon as we walked in. The bathroom was a bloody disgrace. The lady at the desk was so rude and made excuses about structural damage, saying they couldn't do anything. We're never staying there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Not a happy camper. I have photos if anyone is interested.

The housekeeping staff did incredible work during my stay. The room was always spotless and they made the beds amazingly. But the manager was awful. I saw her yelling at staff and it made me feel disgusted. A male staff member wore a shirt supporting Donald Trump, which I found embarrassing and disgusting for all reasons. I'd give this place zero stars if I could, with my one star only for housekeeping. I wouldn't stay here if I were you, unless you like abusive managers who support Donald Trump. Otherwise, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELL HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a fantastic night's sleep, with a great bed and pillows, quiet surrounds and wonderful light-blocking curtains. The buffet-style breakfast and coffee machine were included in our booking, and the breakfast was exceptional. I'd highly recommend getting it. It's a mid-city hotel on a budget, with a mix of vintage and modern interior design. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and it's a great base for exploring Ballarat, with dinner and shopping within walking distance. I'll be booking again.
