Ramada Hotel and Suites Ballina Byron

This was our second time here, and I still think it’s the best hotel in the area. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely laid out, and the staff provide good service. It’s family friendly, with restaurants and shops just a short walk away. There’s laundry, a 24-hour gym and a pool open from 6am-9pm. Pick up pool towels at reception. Chromecast is available on the TV. We really enjoyed staying here and will definitely return.

The location and general facilities were fine, which kept this at an okay stay for us, but the daily smell in the corridors was strong and unpleasant. It affected how comfortable the hotel felt and our first impression. Housekeeping also fell short. When the room was serviced, tea supplies were refilled and towels changed, but the floor wasn’t vacuumed and the tables and benches weren’t wiped. That didn’t meet basic expectations. There was no play area or other kid-friendly space, which made travelling with children harder. Since the hotel clearly attracts families, that feels like a missed opportunity. Better cleaning and more thought for families would make a real difference.

We had trouble with nearby accommodation and walked into the Ramada to see if a room was available for the night. Ben was a great help, and we ended up in a wonderful Riverview room, very clean, spacious and well equipped. The location by the Richmond River is fantastic. There’s secure parking, a great restaurant on the wharf, a wine shop and an amazing bakery for breakfast the next morning. We loved it and would highly recommend staying here.

I’ve been coming here for business for 16 years, and it’s still wonderful. The staff are amazing and so accommodating. It’s clean, check-in and checkout are always easy, and town and restaurants are within walking distance.
