Comfort Inn Clubarham

The room itself was clean, but the windows were filthy on the outside and there was bird poo all over the concrete outside. It looked awful. We’ve been coming to Barham for over 30 years, and chose this motel for the first time because of its location and the lovely-looking pool, as it was going to be hot. We were disappointed to find the pool wasn’t in use, with no communication about it. Two motels’ worth of guests were sharing one small pool, which wasn’t attended to at all during our three-night stay. Empty cans and coffee cups were left around, there was no bin in sight, and cigarette butts in the bins outside rooms weren’t cleared away. The motel could be great if more staff were employed to look after it and keep it clean, but with no onsite staff presence and all the other problems, we’ll never stay again. There was no customer service. Daily room service was advertised, but nobody came to change linen or empty bins during our three nights, even though I left the “please clean my room” sign on the door the whole time. Two pools were listed, but one was out of action and that should have been made clear when booking. Reception is over at the Barham club. I asked for pool towels and was told they’d be brought to our room, but they never came. I asked again on day two and got the same answer, with the same result. Breakfast was listed as available, presumably at the club, but the club didn’t open until 10.00am. I found it perplexing that so many inclusions were advertised but unavailable.

We’ve stayed here four times, and the rooms have always been clean and tidy. The beds are very comfortable and it’s good value for money. The services club is across the road, and the location is great, just a couple of minutes from the Golf Course.

I've stayed here a few times over the years, and the renovations have made it much better. It's peaceful, and the bed is comfortable. Check-in is across the road at club Barham, where you can also grab a drink or two.

The rooms were clean and the service was good. It's a handy central spot in town, not far from Murray haven homes, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
