Maylands Lodge

The breakfasts were among the finest hotel breakfasts we’ve had anywhere, and Chef Harold deserves a special mention for the world class meals. Bojan welcomed us with excellent coffees, showed us to our large room with rustic charm, and left wine and a cheese board, a lovely touch. He also gave us a helpful guide to Hobart’s attractions and must see places. We stayed three nights at the end of August and can’t praise the place enough. Maylands Lodge has lots of nooks and crannies to explore, and it’s centrally located, with Hobart attractions only a few minutes’ drive away. Bojan, Harold, and the whole team, keep up the high standard. We’ll be back soon.

The only thing I’d change is the lack of storage in the bedroom. There was no closet, drawer, or even a clothes hanger, though the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Otherwise I had a great stay at Maylands Lodge. The building is charming and gives off lovely vibes, and I felt welcome and relaxed from the start. The staff were warm and friendly throughout, with smiles and positive energy that lifted my mood. Bojan, you’re a legend. Breakfast was excellent for both flavour and service, and the peaceful location has nice views while exploring Hobart. I’d happily recommend it and return.

We liked it so much that we added another night at the end of our trip just to stay again. It was the best night’s sleep we had in Tasmania. The restored home keeps its original stately beauty while offering modern comfort, from the beds, bedding and bathrooms to the chic lounge and dining room. Our room was spacious and quiet, and the friendly staff made us feel cared for, even when we arrived after hours on the first night. Self check in was easy, with detailed instructions. You’ll want a car, since it’s only a few minutes’ drive to the waterfront but shops and restaurants aren’t right around the corner. A very special property.

The beds felt much too soft to me, though I know that’s personal preference. We stayed on the top floor, and it was well worth the extra cost. The rooms were spotless and breakfast is provided, but there’s no lunch or dinner service at this stage. Staff can point you to local cafes, about a 15-20 minute walk away. It’s a beautiful property in a quiet spot with lovely scenery, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Thankyou Jake and Bojan, you guys rock! Enjoy.
