Vineyard Cottage at Upper Reach Winery

We came across this winery by chance and were so glad we did. The food was faultless and the service was excellent. We had the $48 lunch special with an entrée and main, and couldn’t resist ordering two portions of the delicious bread and olives as well. We’ll definitely be back 👍

The $145 package with lunch turned out to include the same meal listed for $48 on the restaurant menu. The explanation that it was a “promotion” wasn’t clear, and nobody offered to sort out the difference. It’s a shame, since the vineyard, views, staff and tasting were all wonderful, and we enjoyed everything else. I hope guests are told clearly about promotions and price differences in advance.

The food and wines were lovely, and we enjoyed the tour, which was a friendly introduction to the winery with well-presented wines. But the price difference left us disappointed. We paid $80 per person for the Winery Tour and Tasting, then upgraded on arrival to the Full Package at $145 per adult, including a 2-course lunch. Later we saw that the same lunch was listed for $48 on the restaurant menu. When we asked, staff said there was a promotion, but it hadn’t been mentioned when we upgraded. That left us paying an extra $17 each, more than $50 for three adults. There was no offer to address the difference. I hope the winery explains promotions more clearly so guests know the prices before deciding.

Friends recommended lunch here, and it was really lovely. We had the chicken and the radicchio salad starter, and both were delicious. I’d come early for a quieter visit.
