Sunseeker Motor Inn

A great spot for families or an overnight stay. The rooms are big and spacious, there’s a pool and plenty of parking, and staff are friendly and helpful. It’s close to everything, about a 10-minute walk into the bay. Good value if you book early.

The dining was the highlight. This small motel somehow has a top chef, and the modern, interesting high-cuisine menu was brilliantly done. The food was to die for, with first-class table service and an extensive drinks list featuring some truly top-quality wines and spirits. The dining room and room service offer breakfast and dinner five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday. The Sunseeker Motor Inn is a family-run motel, a couple of minutes’ drive from the heart of Batemans Bay. It’s an older place, probably built in the late 1970s, with plenty of guest parking. The staff were welcoming, kind and helpful, and took extra care to make sure I had everything I needed. My room was basic but clean, and the bathroom hadn’t been recently renovated. There was no bathroom window, and the old electric fan didn’t work, but the room had ample towels, a small hair dryer and all the toiletries I needed. It also came with a big-screen TV, reverse-cycle air con and a kitchenette with a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, tea and coffee, crockery, cutlery and milk. Daily housekeeping was excellent, keeping the room fresh and tidy and refreshing the towels and kitchen items. The room and bathroom could use an update, but I’d highly recommend the Sunseeker Motor Inn to anyone holidaying in Batemans Bay.

The only thing that let it down was the Jacuzzi, which wasn’t clean enough. The place and room were great, and everything else was good.

For an inn or motel, this was a very decent stay. I had no other complaints. The tricky part is the 7:00 PM check-in cutoff, during staff hours, so plan your arrival carefully. It could be inconvenient if you’re travelling from interstate.
