Salamanca Market is right outside Galleria on Saturdays, and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. Parking came with the stay, which was handy. We booked at short notice and spent two nights in a spacious apartment with a huge TV. It also had breakfast basics, a microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, kettle, and iron. For the price and location, I’d happily recommend it.

The location was the strongest part of our stay. Salamanca Place, the waterfront, Battery Point, markets, restaurants, and galleries were all easy to reach on foot, which mattered on our first short trip to Hobart for our anniversary. The area’s old maritime warehouses and historic surroundings were lovely to be around. Our assigned room was much less appealing. It felt cramped as soon as we brought in our luggage, and the simple furnishings had little character. We later saw photos of other rooms at the property, and ours didn’t compare well. It seemed among the smallest, fine for sleeping, but not somewhere we wanted to spend time. Since we were out exploring most of the day, the central location made up for a lot. Most check-in information and other communication came by app or email. That efficient approach works for some people, but I missed being greeted by someone in person and having a front desk available for questions or problems. The stay felt practical rather than memorable, even though the property is in such a historic part of town. I’d call it a mixed experience. If you get one of the larger, better-equipped rooms, it could be quite different. For us, the location was great, while the room offered modest comfort and little fuss.

Nath greeted us so warmly, and the self check-in directions were clear and easy to follow. The room was spotless, tidy, and had all the useful basics: coffee, a toaster, microwave, kettle, cutlery, dish soap, hand soap, and an ironing board. They even left us Banjo’s Bakery for free, such a nice surprise. I only stayed one night, but I was impressed enough to want to come back. I almost never write reviews, but this place really was amazing. Great spot, lovely service, highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We’re already hoping to return as soon as we can, there’s still plenty left for us to see. Galleria made for a really comfortable, enjoyable stay. The large windows looked onto all the activity at Salamanca Place, and we loved taking in the buildings and atmosphere of the area. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had good pressure, and the kitchenette worked perfectly. Chocolates on the bed when we arrived and bakery samples the next day were thoughtful touches. There are lots of restaurants close by, and we especially enjoyed the lunches at Pho. It’s hard to pick just one favourite. Tours by bus, boat trips to the islands, and river cruises are all nearby. There’s also a wonderful chocolate shop right across the road. Thanks, Marti and staff. We loved our stay.

We had a great time here. The room was lovely and filled with skylight, with plenty of space and a really comfortable bed. The location was fabulous, and the staff were great and very accommodating.
