I only tried The Lounge, not the main restaurant, and got to sample some aperitifs and appetisers. Each bite was delicate, full of flavour, and had layers of umami that stayed with me. The room felt intimate and welcoming while still being refined and luxurious. Provenance seems to do everything with care and quiet confidence. It feels like the sort of place you'd compare with a starred city restaurant, and somehow being tucked away in the country makes it even more remarkable.

We weren't up for the full restaurant menu, so we tried the lounge menu instead and really enjoyed the food. The Saki was excellent too. Upstairs, the cocktail bar had a relaxed feel and an excellent record collection I'd love to have. We'll definitely be back.

We had a delicious breakfast on the terrace, which was a lovely finishing touch. The location is excellent, and the room had everything we needed, with a really comfortable bed and equipment that felt up to five-star standards. A wonderful bed and breakfast that ticks all the boxes, highly recommended.

I work in communications, and I'm at a loss for words about how amazing this meal was. More than 14 dishes came out, and every one was perfect. Some weren't things I would have chosen for myself because I didn't think I'd like them, but I was completely wrong. They were spectacular. This restaurant deserves every perfect review it gets.

We had a great time with good friends, and the food was a big part of that. The meal came in three bento boxes, each with four little dishes, which took away that initial wow of seeing 12 separate plates. With so many flavours and ideas, it felt like a culinary journey, and of course some dishes appealed more than others. The little puddings at the end were delicious. It is expensive, and the owner, chef and waiter was a bit offhand, but we were there for the food.
