Benson House & Benson Lodge

After three weeks in different kinds of accommodation, we thought the recently renovated Benson house was the best, and great value for money. We stayed one night on our way back from Tasmania. The room was quiet, clean and serene, just right for resting after a long drive. It felt like the host had thought of everything. We loved the bathroom, with plenty of room for a luxurious shower, and the kitchenette had everything we needed. Breakfast came in a lovely continental-style basket. The bedroom looked onto the green courtyard, with a beautiful rose garden beside it. The solid wood bedhead was lovely, and the mattress was super comfortable. We'll definitely be back.

We stayed two nights in both Benson House and Benson Lodge, four people in all. Ray was an excellent host, with remarkable attention to detail and care for our needs. Both units were spotless and delightful, and the small garden areas outside were lovely. The property is tucked away from the main road, so road noise wasn't an issue. Shops, the lake and the beautiful Benalla gardens are all an easy walk away. Highly recommend!

I was in Benalla for one night of work and found this a gorgeous little place. The room is small, but well equipped for one or two people on a short stay. I was surprised English muffins were included as an option with the continental breakfast. There was a great tea selection and a couple of chocolates waiting when I arrived. And the bed was so comfortable I could have slept all day.

Ray was an excellent host, easy to deal with, quick to respond and very helpful. The garden was beautiful, and breakfast was included. We had a lovely stay at Benson, with a clean, comfortable, well-appointed room. Highly recommend!
