Allawah Bendigo

The outside area was beautiful, mostly quiet, and in a good central spot. But the bathroom was terribly small, and the air conditioning and fan didn't work. Apparently they're interconnected with other rooms, which is ridiculous. The rooms are stuffy and you can hear people breathing as they walk past. They should be double glazed. The after-hours staff member was so lovely and tried everything to help with the air conditioning. She ended up giving us a portable fan, thank god. Without her, we would have gone home.

The building and room had lovely character, and the restaurant food was lovely too. Pricing was good, and mornings were peaceful. But the showers were only lukewarm, and the internet cut out in the middle of the evening. Late-night patrons kept me awake, since there's a function area right outside the rooms. If you want a quiet evening, best look elsewhere.

Allawah's wine bank is a gem, and check-in and check-out were straightforward. My maisonette was comfortable and clean, with everything I needed. It's right in the heart of Bendigo on View Street, and parking was easy once I knew where to find it. Surprisingly quiet at night, too.

The rear parking filled up very quickly during our stay, and there only seems to be room for a certain number of vehicles. Allawah Bendigo is in a great spot, with access to some excellent dining options. The rooms are clean and cosy, with modern amenities including split system air conditioning, and a furnished outdoor courtyard. Comfortable for couples.
