The location was good, about a block from the water fountain and under two blocks from the hospital, but the room was very basic: three beds in a tiny space, an outdated bathroom, and a fridge shut inside a cupboard with no ventilation, so the cupboard gets warm. If your car sits low, watch the driveway or your rear bumper may scrape it. The guest information said the gym would be open at 8am, but it wasn't, and the advertised luxuries weren't there. Communication was poor from the start. I got a text asking when I'd check in because I planned to pay cash at 1pm on arrival day. Staff said reception would close at 2pm because they had a Christmas function that night. When I arrived at 1.45 and asked about amenities, I was told there weren't any. The room code they gave me didn't work, so I had to call for a new one. The heater was on already and the room felt like a sauna. I'd booked and paid for breakfast, scheduled for 8am. For three people, we could order only $66 worth. After ordering, nobody was in the dining room, so I called the after-hours number. They said they'd call back, and two minutes later told me the person due to work had called in sick. Fifteen minutes later we were seated in the smallest carpeted sitting area. I was effectively acting as receptionist too, since other guests were asking me whether anyone was around and why the gym was closed. The pepper shaker lid came off onto my eggs benedict and I got pepper all over them. After I scraped most of it off and ate, someone asked if I wanted another meal cooked. Probably won't stay here again. The basics need work.
