Flats Elite

We paid almost $200 and barely slept, then left very early in the morning feeling ripped off and incredibly disappointed. People in the complex yelled and screamed through the night, and some large animal seemed to be scurrying around on the roof. The room was unbelievably old and dated, smelled of urine and dust, and felt so stagnant it was almost suffocating. There was rust, dust or mould everywhere, and fixtures were missing in several places. I usually don't leave bad reviews and have never really had to before, but I'd advise avoiding this place.

I needed somewhere for work at very short notice. The flat was minimalist but had everything I needed, and it was one of the cleanest places I've stayed. The front flats have a great ocean view to enjoy with your morning coffee. I also left my watch in the shower, and Nes took time out of a busy day to find it and mail it back. That was service above and beyond.

Dennis knows a lot about fishing and gave practical tips on rigs and where to go. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the hosts were welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend.

The bed was great, and the lighting was first class in every room. The same can't be said for the flat's condition: it felt tired, and the equipment was barely adequate. It didn't come close to the advertised “full cooking facilities,” and there was hardly any bench space in the kitchen. The shower tap handles gave out on our last day. The BBQ and freezer were rusty and unusable. We enjoyed the stay at Flats Elite for reasons other than the accommodation standard.
