The little beach just across the road was perfect for a swim, and I slept incredibly well in what I think was a king-size bed. There’s no streaming service since the TV isn’t a smart TV, but otherwise it was great value.

The room and bed were comfortable, and we were very happy with both the room and location for our one-night stay. The shower pressure was great, which matters! I told them at checkout that the hairdryer seemed about to blow up, though it wasn’t an issue for us, and they wouldn’t know if I didn’t mention it. We had good meals at the bistro, but waited over an hour and a half for dinner. The food came out extremely slowly, and no one told us until the hour mark. I’d stay again, but might skip the bistro if it’s busy.

The pool and bistro on site were handy, and you’re across from the ocean with the blowhole and penguin tours within walking distance. Beachfront Bicheno Hotel isn’t luxury, but the rooms are clean, comfortable and just right for a road trip stopover. A solid, affordable base in Bicheno. I’d definitely recommend it if you want somewhere comfortable that doesn’t cost a fortune.

I was able to check in early, but the person who greeted me was quite unfriendly, which made me feel awkward. The family room was basically just a room and a bathroom, very bare and uninviting, with nothing on the walls or bedside tables. There were only two glasses and two cups, no plates. We were next to the pool but had no view. For two people, we got only three towels, one face washer and one bath mat. I wouldn’t recommend this place or stay again.

The steak was cooked wonderfully and tasted delicious. My daughter really liked the kids’ pizza, made just how we wanted it, not too soft or too crispy. My wife enjoyed the seasonal veggies and chicken wings, and we all thought the meals tasted great. Thanks, guys, we’ll be back soon. Cheers ⭐️☺️⭐️☺️
