The property was spacious, but several problems made this a very disappointing and stressful stay. The TV didn’t work, the shower head couldn’t be adjusted, and the bathroom bin was too small to use properly. Most concerning, the quilt wasn’t in a proper quilt cover, just wrapped in a flat sheet. Small insects came out from inside it when I went to bed. That felt unhygienic and unacceptable. I gave the host polite feedback, but they reacted badly and wouldn’t accept comments. Instead of fixing anything, they told us to leave at 7am the next day, giving us just two hours to pack. They threatened us and called the police, which felt completely unnecessary and ridiculous. Paying guests should be able to raise concerns, especially about cleanliness. It was unprofessional and upsetting, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. If you book, be prepared for the possibility of being kicked out at any time. One more warning: it seems this may happen often. Once a booking is cancelled on Booking.com, you can’t leave a review there, which could be why all the reviews on the platform look positive. Don’t be misled.

The booking was quite spacious, but some rooms were a bit dirty and the tables were sticky. The bigger issue was the shower and how customer service handled it. After a long day at the beach, we wanted a warm shower, but turning the two knobs back and forth, and trying hard, only gave us water we had to cup and rinse with. It was a miserable trickle, with water leaking from the seams. Reception was off hours when we called, so that part was understandable. We emailed customer service, but they weren’t apologetic and seemed to accuse us of not knowing how to use a simple shower. They said we hadn’t turned the water-flow knob, but we had. Unless a leaky faucet and water coming from all the seams counts as working, the shower was faulty. I’m very unhappy and won’t return. Even if the shower had been working, their response did nothing to ease our concerns.

The room was reasonably spacious and okay clean, but I’m really annoyed I booked it. After a sweaty day at the beach, all we wanted was a working shower. There were two knobs, one for something to do with the shower head and one to turn on the water. We tried turning them and got a sad trickle, with a little water spraying from the joins between the shower head and pipe. That thing was broken. We called reception, but there was no answer. It was 1am, so that was understandable. We emailed support and they basically treated us like idiots who couldn’t work a “simple” shower. Ms Ruth was especially infuriating. I regret the booking and am super annoyed. Maybe we were just unlucky.

We were charged 380 AUD for the house and another 100 AUD security deposit, even though we were put in a room with a fungal problem and a major plumbing flaw. In Unit 2, the carpet in the Master bedroom was visibly wet from the washroom through to the closet, with a towel left there to soak it up. There were also fungal stains on the garage ceiling underneath that bedroom. The next morning we used the shower and water started overflowing from the Gutters, which made the plumbing issue clear. They shouldn’t have assigned us this unit without telling us about the major problem, and the washroom should have been flagged as U/S. Charging a security deposit for a fungal-infested room was outrageous. Terrible.
