That creek just behind Robinson’s Cabin is gorgeous, and the place worked well for our family. We loved having a roomy lounge, a clean, comfortable cabin and a new bathroom with a good shower. The kitchen was easy to use and had plenty of saucepans, frying pans, tea towels, dish soap, brushes and rubbish bags. The BBQ was great too. We boiled water and brought it with us. It’s a lovely base for walks and swimming holes, with Tenterfield close enough for a day trip. There’s plenty of shade when it’s warm, plus an outdoor fire pit and indoor fireplace for cooler weather. It was a welcome break from the coast’s heat and humidity, and the setting felt peaceful and beautiful. Bring sheets, towels, a bath mat, soap, shampoo and extra pillows if you need them. Each bed has one thick pillow. Pack doonas or blankets even in summer, since nights can get chilly.

There are plenty of walks starting right at the cabin, and with no phone reception it was easy to switch off for the weekend. We had a lovely long stay at Robinson Cabin. It felt warm and homey, with more amenities than we expected, especially in the kitchen. There were even baking paper, mixing bowls and measuring cups. We took a photo of the inventory list so people can check what they may need to bring. Bedding, bath mats, hand towels and towels aren't supplied, which seems fair given how remote it is. The provided knives weren't great, so we brought our own. If you want to cook over the fire, bring a camp oven or hotplate, as the one there is rusty. You'll also need basics like salt, pepper and oil. A great spot to relax away from everyday life.

The waterfall stream is only about 40 meters away, and the locked gate means it felt like we had it to ourselves. Lovely spot for photos, and I’d recommend the place. There’s no cell coverage, and electricity and water are limited, though that’s to be expected so far from civilization.
