Merinda Village Hotel

We stopped here on 27/12/2025 to break up our trip. The location just off the Bruce Highway was great, and booking online was easy. The room shower was absolutely filthy, with hair on the walls and what looked like old spit. It came off with a little effort. When I switched on the air con, a lot of fluff blew onto the bed, and it dripped water onto the bed overnight. So disappointing.

The food was excellent, the staff were really lovely, and the amenities were nice, clean and big. I’ve stayed at quite a few camps, and this has to be one of the best. The only drawback was being right on the Bruce Highway, where you could hear every truck go by. Still, I’ll take traffic noise any day over camps where you hear every move the person next to you makes.

The Bruce was cut at Bowen while I was heading south, and the staff at Merinda Village Hotel were very helpful and accommodating. I’d highly recommend the place to travellers who find themselves needing a room and a nice meal.

What a bloody cute hotel. I absolutely loved it. The restaurant meals were top-notch. I ordered the steak and the salmon, and mate, one bite nearly brought me to tears. That’s how good they were. The staff were legends too, super friendly and just the cutest. I’d come back in a heartbeat if I get the chance.
