Bramston Beach Resort

We chose the place as a base for Paronella Park and the nearby waterfalls, and it was a lovely place to unwind and gather our thoughts for the next day. Our two-night stay was peaceful, and the rooms and shared areas were clean and lovely. My husband also enjoyed a refreshing swim and a drink by the pool.

The food was a real highlight. You pre-order meals at the restaurant and follow a few simple instructions, then everything is freshly made with garden produce, herbs, and microgreens. The Barramundi Island Hangi was unique and outstanding, with earthy flavours, and every menu item seemed worth trying. The owners give guests privacy, so the place feels like home. It’s a quiet sanctuary within walking distance of Bramston Beach, with palms, garden beds, nature, cassowaries, and other coastal birds. The coastline is stunning for a sunrise run on the beach. Rooms are adequate and tastefully decorated. Highly recommended for a peaceful beach holiday.

I didn't stay or eat there. I called to book, as required, but the woman on the phone was curt and seemed more interested in road workers than longer-term travellers or visitors to the area. Maybe she missed the Queensland tourism memo. I felt brushed off, so I wouldn't bother. The local pubs are very good and welcoming.

The location was lovely, with the beach close by, and the drive in from the highway was well worth it. We had fish and chips for dinner, which was good and plenty to eat. The room was charmingly decorated, and the bathroom products were good quality. What a nice surprise.
