It was easy to get meals and have a cheeky drink afterwards, with everything right in town. The house was lovely and warm, and Dani gave us a welcome that was just as warm at check-in. We had a wonderful stay and drove up to Falls each morning. Great spot.

We were holidaying from Melbourne, and I’m not a local guide. The manager, Tani, was superb. She even met us at the V/Line coach stop and showed us a shortcut to the hotel. It’s close to the restaurants, river and Canyon walk, and I’d stay again if I return to Bright. For $120 a night, we had a spacious room with a regular fridge, microwave, dining table, two chairs, sofa, and enough plates and cutlery for a couple. The reverse-cycle air conditioning was very good. The old hot water system takes a long time at the tap, though, which wastes water and must make for a high water bill. We were very satisfied with the value. Can you find a hotel like this anywhere in Australia for under $150?

A basic motel with a nice outdoor grill area and good value for money. It could use a little upkeep, but it’s fine for a stop on the way up to the snow mountains.

The staff were lovely, and the price was good for a place right in the centre of town. We booked after walking in, then spent time by the lovely, quiet pool. The rooms are very old, but you can see yours before checking in, so there’s nothing hidden. The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower takes a bit of figuring out because the plumbing works opposite to what you’d expect, but Reception explained it when I asked. I’d disagree with the negative reviews. No complaints from us, and well done to the team for offering a quirky, affordable and comfortable place to stay.
