Looking for a holiday idea? 🌿🌳 Bright is so green this season, and there's countryside, riverside spots and hiking nearby. We stayed at Merrimeet, in an apartment or cottage in Bright, Vic. Ours had two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, living room and balcony. The river is just behind the apartment, about a two-minute walk away. It's around a 10-minute walk into Bright Town Central, or a two-minute drive. There are lots of interesting places around Bright.

The one-bedroom Lychgate Apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a slow combustion stove and spa bath. It's set in lovely gardens, with a short walk beside the river into Bright township. Merrimeet Cottages would make a perfect base for exploring the region or heading to the snowfields. I'd highly recommend it.

The garden was a highlight, with a BBQ area that made for lovely evenings and meals with friends. The peaceful setting and cosy rooms gave the cottage a real home-away-from-home feel. We had a memorable stay together, full of laughs, good food and great memories. The place was spotless, with well-kept rooms, a well-equipped kitchen and excellent parking, so settling in was easy. It also had everything we needed, so we didn't have to bring anything from home. I'd happily recommend it for a comfortable, relaxing stay, and I'll book again on a future trip. 😍😍😍

The setting is lovely, but the apartment felt a bit small. The sloping walkway has loose stones that get slippery underfoot, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with mobility difficulties.

We stayed five nights in Mews. It's right by the river, with spots to paddle or swim, and the Canyon Walk track runs nearby. Town is a quiet 7-10 minute walk away, just a couple of minutes from the main drag. The beds were very comfortable. There's self-catering equipment and a BBQ on the verandah as well as in the garden.
