Annexe Apartments

We were very satisfied with the room, which was fully equipped and within walking distance of the hospital. It had a microwave, dishwasher, air-conditioning, washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron, and a medium-sized fridge. One thing to keep in mind: on-site parking may not be available if you have a large car, since they use a car lift to reach the parking area and have limited spaces for larger vehicles. There was a "cellopark" area nearby for $12 per day, which was better than parking at the hospital. Bring a small car if you can.

We’re here for the New Year break after travelling from Sydney, and the room has been shockingly filthy. There’s a strong damp, mouldy smell as soon as you walk in, and the sofa in the living area is so dirty I don’t want my children sitting on it. We’re in room 506, the apartment-style annexe room with a kitchen. We’re meant to stay five nights, but my children have allergies and I can’t risk their health for another night. If I could find somewhere open at this hour, I’d leave right now. I’ve never seen a hotel room this dirty in my life. Tomorrow I’ll ask for a full refund and immediate checkout. I can’t stay here another day in these conditions. Please check a room’s cleanliness carefully before staying, especially with children. I completely agree with the previous review.

The beds were comfortable and nicely made, and both bathrooms were clean. The place is very handy for Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, but at $199 a night I expected better cleaning. We were in room 506. There were black marks on the walls and skirting, the kitchen floor was dirty in the corners, and the TV cabinet had stains down its side. The lounge especially needs replacing, and the furniture generally could do with an update. Bathroom 2 also drained so badly it nearly overflowed onto the floor. Cleaning needs more attention to detail.

We stayed in room 509 for a festival since the showgrounds are next door. It was just passable for one night. I woke at 4am and seriously thought about driving home then because of the smell. The room was musty, and the floors felt sticky, almost as if they’d been cleaned with a dirty mop. There was plenty of hair and dust around the bedside tables. The elevator and hallways had a really distinct rotting chicken, or rotting meat, smell. It was hard to miss.
