Bridgewater Terraces

The location worked fine, with a few restaurants close enough to walk to, but I wouldn't book here again or recommend it. Getting to the pool meant crossing a dark car park and squeezing down a narrow corridor past privately owned rooms. The pool itself seemed to be the only thing maintained, and it was loaded with chlorine. There also weren't nearly enough chairs for the number of rooms. Our three-bedroom apartment was dirty and very dated, with worn furniture and a filthy fridge. The cupboards wouldn't shut properly. Both bathrooms had broken tiles and moldy showers, and the toilets had yellow stains on and around the seats, including underneath. I'd think twice before staying here.

The lake view from our three-bedroom apartment was lovely, and the staff were genuinely warm, helpful and easy to deal with. We had a relaxing, enjoyable stay and would happily return. We came in late September after seeing some mixed reviews, so I wasn't sure what we'd find. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It's not a five-star hotel, but that's not what it claims to be, and for what it is, we were pleasantly surprised.

We were left without help when our key cards stopped working at 5am. Staff at the apartments didn't respond or offer a solution. Earlier, we'd reported the problems at reception and someone came to look, but nothing was fixed. By 4pm, the desk was unattended. The customer service, especially from a staff member named Renay, felt rude and unprofessional. The apartment we received at Bridgewater Apartments, Kangaroo Point looked much worse than the listing photos. The furniture was old, worn and broken. Several lights didn't work or had no bulbs, which seemed like a possible electrical safety hazard. The fridge was dirty and smelly, with yellow liquid in its trays, and the microwave had food stuck inside. The floor was so dirty our feet turned black when we walked barefoot. The outdoor mesh door and bathroom door both wouldn't open and close properly. The property was poorly maintained and misleadingly advertised. I strongly advise others to avoid staying here.

We're staying here while my son awaits heart surgery. The apartment and the surrounding property are nice, and the people I think are the owners have been very friendly and accommodating. We booked at the last minute, after hours, and they still helped us out.
