The room itself was okay, but badly in need of renovation, and there was no soundproofing. I could hear my neighbours sneeze. In the middle of the night, someone used a key to unlock my door and walk in. I don’t know if there’s one key that opens every room, but that lock certainly didn’t work. We were lucky we could both laugh about it. Given the area, it was pretty horrific. Staff were cold and rude at checkout. I wouldn’t return or recommend it. For the same price, or sometimes less, there are nicer places closer to amenities and in better areas.

The bed was comfortable and the location was great. I accidentally left a shirt in the wardrobe, and the staff were helpful enough to post it back to me. I’ll definitely stay again.

The food was excellent, especially the ribs and fillet Mignon, which were the best I’ve ever had. The rooms were clean and in good condition, with very comfy beds and pillows. The pool and spa were really nice too. It was a little noisy on weekdays, but that was just highway noise.

The rooms and facilities were run down, and you could smell mould. Cleanliness was pathetic, the worst motel I’ve ever stayed at. Even after we asked, the rooms weren’t cleaned or cleared during the day. The toilet was the low point. See the photo, this was after we’d asked them to clean it, thinking it might have been a one-off.

The meal was a real highlight: the chicken breast from Rhy’s chicken was tender and juicy, and service was quick. We stayed one night and ate at the restaurant, and the food was a happy 5/5. Such a beautiful spot, and I’d happily recommend both the rooms and the food.
