Founda Gardens Apartments

We stayed here while our son had surgery and spent a few days at nearby Wesley Hospital. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment was a little dated, with old fixtures and carpet that had seen better days, but it was clean and usable. The linen was fresh and very clean, and there was enough crockery, cutlery and utensils to cook a meal. The washer and dryer both worked well. It’s a short but steep walk to Auchenflower station, then one stop to Toowong Village, where you can get groceries without leaving the station. Good value for money, with nice views. Staff are helpful if you contact them on the mobile number.

The apartment had three bedrooms, plenty of space, a good-sized kitchen, and a handy location near lots of things. But I had to clean the inside of the oven door and the cupboards myself. I used to clean at a four-and-a-half-star resort, so I know what should be ready when guests arrive. The bathroom sink also tipped forward with even a slight lean, which didn't feel safe.

A few days before our big overseas trip, they called to cancel a booking we'd made more than two months earlier. I wish I'd checked the reviews sooner. A double booking that far in advance is hard to believe. Be warned, they may cancel on you.

Bel, the property manager, was professional and quick to sort out any problems with our room. The place was spacious and well maintained, though the kitchen appliances could use an update. If you need somewhere to stay that allows pets, I'd definitely recommend it.
