The only reason I'd stay here is its proximity to the hospital. There aren't restaurants nearby, unless you count Hungry Jacks, and I was told other options were a 50-minute walk away. Staff didn't seem very concerned when I reported that the Wi-Fi wasn't working. I had to keep pushing before someone came up, but they couldn't fix it either, so I was left without Wi-Fi. The TV connection also kept cutting in and out on local channels, with no streaming services. On the room service visit, the bed wasn't made and the towels were changed without a bath mat. The room itself was clean, but service was poor overall. I wouldn't recommend it or stay again.

Gabriella made a difficult time much easier with her kindness and professionalism. She went out of her way to make sure our stay went as well as possible, and we're very grateful. My partner and I have been travelling to Brisbane often this year for hospital appointments, and our stays at The Oaks have been consistently exceptional. The location works so well for us, and the whole property feels warm, comfortable, and uplifting. Staff made us feel welcome and cared for from the moment we arrived. We'll definitely return.

I waited two and a half hours for an answer to my refund request after being told the three-bedroom apartment I'd booked differed from the listing. Reception tried to help, but seemed undertrained and without enough support. After failing to reach the immediate manager, the receptionist called the hotel General manager, who told him not to call on Saturday and to contact the immediate manager instead, then hung up. When Rose, the manager, was finally reached and the situation explained, she said I had paid for the room and would not get a refund. Room 4031 was dingy and poorly lit, with bedroom windows looking out at drainpipes and rubbish. There was a baby bottle teat under the bed. Reception said the room had been refurbished the previous month, but that didn't seem true: there were marks and dents everywhere, and the appliances were scratched and old. It's listed as a four-star hotel, but I wouldn't give the room two stars.

Erin was especially accommodating and went out of her way to make our stay lovely. The staff were wonderful overall. The rooms were tidy, the beds comfortable, and the accommodation is right by the Royal Brisbane Hospital. A lovely stay.
