The room was unhygienic. The sheets had yellow stains, the wood was rotting, the furniture was badly worn, and the whole place smelled of damp and garbage. It looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. I ended up with bed mites and went to hospital for treatment for the irritation. The kitchen was crawling with cockroaches. I came expecting the motel to be wheelchair accessible and supportive, as promised, but the room wasn’t set up for a wheelchair at all. When I booked, they said they’d “look after me.” Instead, they expected me to collect my own laundry and towels from the back of the building, even though the path wasn’t wheelchair accessible. The staff showed little interest from the moment I arrived. When I asked basic questions and raised concerns about the room, they acted as if I was bothering them and couldn’t be bothered to help. The condition of the room was terrible, but their lack of concern made the stay even worse. This motel is a disgrace, and I’d tell anyone considering it to think again.

One of our senior team members stayed at Paramount Hotel and had a miserable time. The room smelled bad, and each night there were cockroaches and bed mites. They were left itching and scratching and couldn’t sleep. The room was old, torn, and badly worn, with broken cupboard hinges, torn beds, and makeshift shelves. It’s absurd to charge a “damage deposit” for a room already in such poor condition. The nightly price is far too high for the service, or lack of it. Signs around the room tell guests what they must do, while management seems to do little to meet its own responsibilities. They appear to have invested in elaborate door security instead of an on-site presence or basic room service, at the expense of guest comfort and living standards. As a senior executive at a company that often books accommodation for cast and crew in different places, I’m disappointed and disgusted by the lack of professionalism. Management avoids interaction with guests and leaves them without even basic hospitality. The descriptions and promotional photos are misleading: they don’t mention that there’s no compendium or that housekeeping isn’t included in the nightly rate. These are key details, and guests shouldn’t have to discover them after arriving. This place doesn’t deserve even one star. It’s not suitable for business or leisure. A one-star hostel would be better, at least for the basic human interaction and support. Paramount Hotel should reconsider a business model that seems to serve only the owners and shows no regard for guests. Not recommended. Avoid at all costs.

This place is dreadful and feels dirty. It’s so dated, with paint peeling off the ceiling and tiles, lifting carpet, and dirty curtains that are only half hung. The toilet was dirty, and the bed made me feel seasick whenever I moved. We booked two rooms for three adults but got only two towels. There was no reception, so there wasn’t much we could do. I hate camping, but even that seemed preferable. Don’t trust the website photos, they must be really old.

It’s been two months, and I still haven’t got the refund they promised, despite going back and forth with them constantly. The room was awful: filthy carpet and chairs, dead cockroaches in the kitchen, a toilet left uncleaned by the previous guests, and a bed that looked slept in. The air conditioner didn’t work in Brisbane in the middle of summer. I honestly think the positive reviews are fake or written by people connected to the owners. This stay was the worst experience of my life, like the other bad reviews. It’s not worth it. Stay anywhere else, even a park bench would be better. This place has put me off using airBNB again.

We were refused entry to our room even though it was vacant, then made to wait outside our door in the Brisbane heat for an hour. My pregnant wife was suffering and needed the bathroom. They told us over the phone, “that’s not our problem, if you want early access then you need to pay extra.” There are no staff on site, the whole operation is remote. Pathetic. The rooms are disgustingly filthy, and I saw the cleaning staff myself. Not one had a vacuum. It looked like they just changed the towels, left the dirty ones in the empty reception office, and went away. This place is disgusting and breaches health code. I suspect the good reviews are from fake accounts or people connected to the establishment. Some accounts have only reviewed Paramount, while others also reviewed gold coat inn. I can only assume it’s associated with paramount motel somehow, since the bad reviews are so similar. Do not stay here.
