Best Western Sunnybank Star Motel

We stayed one night in the two-bedroom apartment. The room was satisfactory, but badly needed a deep clean. The bathroom needed a good dose of bleach, and one wall in the main bedroom needed a thorough cleaning too. You'd understand what I mean if you had a blacklight 😬

Hi, my name is Maggie Kemp. My son and I stayed in rooms 16 and 17 a little over a week ago. When we booked, we were told we'd get one queen bed because there were two people. Sunny bank motel made the booking for us, but they hadn't told us that our room had been given out. My only issue with Sunnybank star motel is the $100 service fee per room, $200 total. It doesn't come back as promptly as they take it. It's been more than seven days since our stay, and we still haven't received the refund. Once the room has been cleaned and is in good shape with no damage, our money should be returned. To me, it feels like a way to keep and use people's money. The reception service was amazing, so nice and friendly. We stayed in a clean, pleasant two-bedroom apartment. For a place described as a two-star hotel and apartment, it was in pretty good condition. I hope they offer longer-term leases or rentals, because I'd be interested. It would be an ideal place for someone on their own.

There was a strong bleach smell as soon as we walked in, and the place wasn't what we expected. We were practically right next to a busy road, with loud cars and bikes going past all night. Then we were told to move our car from the parking spot we'd paid for to make room for someone checking in with a larger vehicle. At the time, the room next door was empty and we could park there. Once someone checked in and parked there, we obviously had to move back to our own space. The vehicle that couldn't fit ended up blocking the road, which led to a confrontation between my neighbour and me, even though it wasn't our fault. They expected us to park elsewhere despite that space being included with our room. The shower and the area around the sink had mold. There were odd, hard stains on parts of the carpet, what looked like cigarette burns on a blanket, and the bedding blanket wasn't even a blanket, just a fitted sheet.
