Adrian John (AJ) set a friendly, funny tone as soon as our big, slightly chaotic group arrived. The food was fantastic, but paying separately turned into a bit of a production since none of us could remember what we’d ordered. AJ patiently kept track of everything, while somehow acting as accountant, referee, therapist, and comedian and keeping us laughing. Service like that feels rare. Thanks, AJ, you’re a legend. We’ll be back! 👏🍻

The room was spacious and fairly clean, and the common areas were clean too. The staff were friendly, the food was nice, parking was free, and the location was handy for shops and a supermarket. I appreciated having biscuits with my tea. Poppy at the front desk was as helpful as she could be. That said, the room didn’t feel worth the $400 I paid for one night. The toilet seat barely covered the inside of the bowl, there were patches on the walls, the bedside lamp didn’t work, and the quilt had stains. The bathroom wall around the light switches needed a good clean. The fridge was so hot that I had to leave its cupboard door open. I was offered free breakfast, but no partial refund.

We spent hundreds of dollars and left feeling that a kebab shop would have been a better use of the money. The Caesar salad was shockingly bad. I ate the egg and left the rest, and one meal was missed, so someone at our table had to eat long after everyone else had finished. The cocktails were lacklustre, the bar manager kept staring at customers from the dining area, and the wait staff delivered the meals without even basic pleasantries. It was our first visit and will be our last. Management should try dining here undercover and see for themselves how poor the experience is.

Our staff Christmas party was on Wed 10/12, and everything ran smoothly. The food was yum, service was timely, and there were no delays. The girls working that day were friendly and helped me set up and decorate the tables. My boss and colleagues were really impressed. Adrian and Crystal were especially helpful while I was booking. They let me choose the tables and where we’d be seated, and we were able to come in and add our own decorations. Great teamwork from the Calamvale restaurant staff. Another branch of our service has booked its Christmas party there after our recommendation. Merry Christmas, Calamvale Restaurant staff, you guys rock!
