The Ridge Apartment Hotel

The only thing this place has going for it is the city location. Staff were usually unavailable, the rooms barely met cleanliness standards, and parking, visitor access, and drop-off were poor. We chose it for the location and previous reviews, but it wasn’t worth it. There was dust everywhere, slimy showers, toilets that kept running, broken toilet buttons, a broken coffee pod machine with used pods left by previous guests, and what looked like a blood smear on the wall. The cutting board was disgusting and unwashed, the kitchen tap seemed close to snapping off, and there were odd numbers of plates, cups, glasses, and cutlery. No spare towels, pillows, sheets, or blanket. The ironing board was burnt and the iron had burnt black gunk on it. There was no cover on the doodah. They also threaten a $1400 call-out if you set off the smoke detector, despite the exhaust fans barely working. We got no welcome sheet or information about the amenities. The photos say more than I can. We won’t stay again and don’t recommend it for what’s offered at that price.

They spent good money on the photographer and photo editor, but the place is a dive. There were stains all over the floors and furniture, mould on the walls, plasterboard peeling from the roof and walls, and light fittings torn off with wires exposed. Stay away and find somewhere else.

It was clean enough, but very tired. Don’t confuse it with Rydges. The furniture was stained, tiles chipped, mould in places, and some of the wood was rotten. The vanity was missing its drawer front, some light fittings had blown bulbs and others were just wires. There were black stains on the supposedly clean linen too. The list goes on. I also watched a resident’s dog pee in the elevator.

The room we got was nothing like the good-looking photos I booked from. It was outdated, smelly, grimy, and in disrepair, with a wire hanging from the ceiling and no light on it, broken gyprock in a corner, mould, and missing bathroom drawers. We left because this wasn’t what we paid for. It felt like false advertising.
