Coonawarra Units

The room was very spacious for our family of four, and the location was quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the simple breakfast was fresh and adequate. The beds and bedding especially stood out. We slept like logs, and the heating worked well without making noise. There were handy appliances too, including a toaster, microwave and kettle. We can't make sense of the suboptimal reviews and are glad we took a chance. Exceptional value.

The room was spacious, and the bed itself was clean and comfortable, but the place has definitely seen better days. It was cold and hard to heat. The windows were filthy, cobwebs covered the ceilings, and the shower pressure wasn't enough to rinse shampoo out of my hair. Breakfast was a joke: plain white toast that seemed previously frozen in a plastic bag, stale biscuits, instant coffee and tea bags, with nowhere to sit. We had nothing, apart from a biscuit in its original packaging that was still stale. The fridge was mouldy inside, and there were plenty of other problems.

The rooms are in a beautiful setting among vineyards, with a garden, gazebo and outdoor pool. They have high ceilings and exposed brick, and the location is handy. The front rooms near the highway can get a bit noisy, though. Under the new management the rooms don't seem to be serviced regularly, and cleanliness could definitely be better.

Mark and Marissa were such warm and hospitable hosts. Our room was beautiful, clean and well appointed, and the surroundings were lovely. Thank you!
