Rambla @ Berwick House

We stayed at the Rambla and Berwick House Fortatude valley Brisbane for the whole month of February and had a lovely stay. The staff were amazing, always checking whether we wanted fresh towels, which we did. The room stayed very quiet on level 3 near the front of the Rambla and Berwick House. We only heard the occasional emergency vehicle siren at night. The room was very clean and worked perfectly for us, with good lighting, a comfortable bed, and space to cook when we didn't want to eat out. We could do our washing too. The air conditioning was good, which we appreciated on some very hot days. The location was good, and the pool and spa were amazing. One thing we missed was a cheese toastie machine. We also wanted more umbrellas for shade at the rooftop pool. It was too hot to sit there during the day, so we could only enjoy it at night when it was cooler.

The location was fantastic, and the apartment was very clean, though it felt a bit sterile. But there was no soundproofing between floors, so you could hear absolutely everything the upstairs neighbours were doing. If a hotel is going to be in a cheaply finished apartment building, they should at least put carpet in instead of vinyl.

We had a really positive five days at Rambla. The apartments were spacious and clean, check-in was easy, and the location worked well. We didn't use the pool or gym, but both were accessible and convenient. The main hassle was that the cookware didn't work with the induction cooktop, so we ordered meals instead of cooking. There were plenty of food options nearby, though. The digital key app also crashed regularly, but it caused very little trouble overall. We'd happily stay again.

The rooftop pool and magnesium spa were the highlight, with a great city view and lots of different places to sit or have a BBQ. The location was handy too, within walking distance of FV and Howard Smith Wharf, and communication with Rambla was good, all online and digital. We booked through Luxury Escapes, but the photos didn't match the apartment we got. Ours was on the first floor, facing a preschool that got going at 6:30am. It was too noisy to open the door or sit on the small balcony, let alone sleep in, and there was no city view like in the pictures. The kitchen wasn't fully equipped either, with very few items and no ice cube trays or coffee plunger.
