Soda Apartments by CLLIX

Very poor for the price, with a dirty bathroom and inadequate cleaning. The apartments felt old and tired, and parking just to check in was ridiculously expensive. Staff gave no direction, reception was a mess, and the place felt like a budget backpackers. Lots of people were complaining, and people we spoke to at the pool had had a nightmare too. They hold a ridiculous deposit, leaving you waiting days for $300 to come back. The quality was no better than a location-focused backpackers. Find somewhere else. Two stars at most.

Wonderful apartments in a great location, with friendly staff. Cleanliness let it down for me: when I switched on the bedroom fan, dust covered the bed, and the doona had someone's foundation on it, so it clearly hadn't been washed after the previous guests.

The apartment itself was nice enough, though very bare-bones. I booked as a corporate client, so the awful WiFi was a real problem. I had a work meeting that evening and expected a place taking corporate bookings to have internet that could handle a standard Zoom call. At first I could join the network but there was no internet. I called, restarted the router as they asked, and the connection came back, but it was far too slow for a decent meeting. I had to burn through a lot of my mobile data by hotspotting, and without that I’d have been stuck. The Soda Apartments service desk said they couldn’t have helped even if the WiFi hadn’t come back, because they didn’t have the internet provider’s phone number. That’s entirely subpar service.

The city views were unreal, and the apartment had a great balcony, fantastic bathroom, and an awesome rooftop pool and entertainment area. It was tidy, modern, and well appointed, with the city and everything we needed within easy walking distance. My partner and I spent New Year’s here and couldn’t fault it. We’ll definitely stay again!
