The Johnson Brisbane - Art Series

We loved our stay in Spring Hill on the last night of my nephew's holiday. The room was spacious, practical and beautifully appointed, and both it and the facilities were spotless. The amenities looked lovely, and the extra service and thoughtful touches made the experience even better. Wish we could've stayed longer. Loved every minute.

We spent two nights here over Christmas, and the hotel honestly exceeded what I expected. The 50m pool was a great bonus. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a balcony, and the staff were lovely from check-in through the whole stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend, and I'd definitely stay again.

I had just one night here, but I'd be open to staying again. There were a few concerns: the floors in my room had some stains, a dead roach was there as I was leaving, and the air conditioner was dated, though it did the job. Linen and bathroom were fine, and cleanliness was otherwise good during my stay. I travel for work 1-4 times a month and have done so for three years in Australia, and this was my first roach in accommodation. Still, the stay was positive overall. The staff were friendly, especially Jerome, who was amazing. I liked the spacious, well-set-up room, the Nespresso coffee, the pool, and the gym was actually good for a proper workout, unlike most hotel gyms. I'd read other reviews and was worried about staying here, but I had a good time.

We liked the daily service, clean rooms and consistently friendly, helpful staff. The free No. 30 bus, every 20 minutes, was great for getting into the city, and we really enjoyed Creole Soul Kitchen across the road. Nearby café and restaurant choices were limited on weekends, though more places were open during the week. The location felt a little out of the way. We stayed nine nights as a couple, and the studio-room odour was a letdown. Our first room had a noticeable sewage smell, which we later saw in earlier reviews, so we asked to move before unpacking. The second had a faulty air conditioner, so we moved again. We stayed in the third room for the rest of the visit, but it still had an ongoing sewage smell and needed maintenance. Until that's fixed, we wouldn't recommend the studio rooms.
