If your family’s health and safety matter to you, don’t stay here. I’d give it negative stars if I could. They said the mould throughout the room had been professionally cleaned, but that was just their housekeeping. The shower was coming out of the wall and there was chewing gum stuck to the carpet. I wasn’t comfortable sleeping on the bedding for the days I was there, so I went out and bought my own linen. They blamed the laundry service. Please be safe and don’t stay here.

The dining table was sticky and stayed that way even after we tried to clean it ourselves. The dishwasher had calcium stains throughout, and none of the exhaust fans worked in the bathrooms or laundry. Lighting in the apartment and bathrooms was dim and awkwardly placed. The showers leaked, had very little pressure and got dangerously hot for young children. The window latches were dodgy and broken. Also, if you want to leave the complex through the car park, you need both sets of keys: one has the elevator FOB and the other has the roller door key. We stayed in room 302.

The room was dirty and absolutely below standard. When I finally got to speak to someone, they said the cleanliness was acceptable and blamed me for not reading the after-hours instructions, even though we had followed them. The office being closed on weekends meant we couldn’t speak to anyone directly about the room at the time. It’s unacceptable to offer accommodation without weekend support and then dismiss guests’ concerns. We won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend it. We arrived late on Saturday afternoon with two exhausted toddlers and had booked two nights. The after-hours number went straight to voicemail, saying we’d called outside business hours. That’s when we realised they weren’t actually open on weekends, so there was no way to get real help or report a problem when we needed it most. Eventually, a resident let us into the building. I called the number on the office door twice before reaching someone at a call centre, but they couldn’t give clear directions. It took nearly half an hour running around in the rain to find the key box and get into our room.

For the three of us, it was alright for what we needed. The rooms were clean, the kitchen had everything required, the showers were good, and fresh towels were provided. Being able to wash and dry our clothes was great, and the Wi-Fi worked well. We paid $2350 for five nights. It was during the Lions 🦁 matches, so the price may have been inflated, but seemed okay. The place is close enough to walk to town and Suncorp stadium. The only problems were that the check-in clerk was a bit sharp, asking how we got into the complex and insisting we had to present a physical version of the card we booked with, even though we showed passports and a digital phone copy. Also, someone went for a swim at 6.05am on a couple of mornings and we could hear them, though that is within the allowed swimming time.
