Vine Serviced Apartments

We booked at the very last minute for the NYE party and Brisbane fireworks. Ann was helpful throughout our stay, and the room was nice and comfortable. The location was close to everything.

We spent a month at Vine, and the property was disappointing. It wasn't luxury, more like a three-star place at best. The room was poorly maintained, with dirty carpets, broken furniture, and cheap furnishings that made it uncomfortable. Reception wasn't staffed during the hours it was meant to be. Staff did try to fix some things, but the dishwasher took three repair attempts and still wouldn't run a hot wash or finish its cycle. After a month, that became very frustrating.

We paid for the place through booking.com but never received instructions for checking in or getting into the unit. We called the after-hours number several times and reached an attendant called Samantha, who kept putting us on hold and then hanging up. The service was poor, especially for what we paid.

The location is great, with easy access to the train and CityCat boats. Having a kitchen, dishwasher and laundry in the unit was handy, but compared with other apartments we've booked instead of hotels, this one felt neglected. The kitchen had no paper towels or napkins, and no scissors, things most travellers won't bring and that would be easy to supply. The rooftop furniture was very worn. The hot tub didn't work, and even if it had, there were no steps to get in and the chlorine level was ridiculously high. There was mould in the shower too. I wanted to love the place, but it didn't feel cared for.
