We had a thoroughly enjoyable first visit to Broken Hill, and the cottage made it easy to settle in. The area was quiet and close to everything, and there was nothing we found wanting. I booked the Blue Gum cottage online without seeing it first, for my 90-year-old mother, my two sisters and me. We were pleasantly surprised. It was spotless and very comfortable, with heating and cooling, electric blankets on all the beds, and a modern bathroom and laundry. I'd recommend these cottages to anyone looking for a great stay in Broken Hill.

The cottages are excellent value. They aren't posh, but they're very comfortable, and Telstra coverage was very good, though Optus wasn't so great. We spent five enjoyable days at Blue Bush Cottage, 324 Lane Street. It was clean, homely and peaceful, with two bedrooms. Argent Street was about a 12-minute walk away. The heating was excellent and there was plenty of hot water.
