The park is in a good location and is quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful, and when we arrived after hours, our site information was exactly where we had been told it would be. The allocated site wasn't level. Even with ramps under the tyres, we couldn't get it level enough, but after calling the after-hours number we were allowed to move. The sites had little grass, mostly dirt, and lots of large, thorny prickles. For the price, they could be better. There are slab sites too, but we don't know why no caravans were put on them. It would help to level the sites and use gravel so the thorns can't grow. Vans arriving were all placed in one area of the park instead of being spread out. The amenities were old and could do with an upgrade, though they were clean and functional.
The staff were friendly, helpful and informative, and the cabin was fantastic and reasonably priced. The park is at the eastern end of Broken Hill, but it's not within walking distance of the town centre, pubs, clubs or restaurants. Our cabin was new, spacious and modern, with a split-system reverse-cycle air conditioner that worked very well in the heat. It had a kitchen, table, lounge area, and two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two singles. The bathroom had plenty of room too.
We were only passing through and planned to stay one night, but ended up adding another. The park felt safe and was clean and friendly, out at the “outback view” end of town. Our large van was no problem for the staff, and they gave us tips on dog-friendly places to visit. There’s plenty of space, decent-sized sites, a great camp kitchen and a smaller one by the playground. The amenities were spotless and the water pressure was excellent. They also put on a cheese and bikkies happy hour with a bush poet for anyone who wanted to join in. It easily beats the other options in town. I’d absolutely recommend it.
We found this little park by luck while passing through on the way to Perth. The pet-friendly cabin was huge, nicely updated and presented, and felt very safe. The size and value really surprised us, and we’d recommend it to anyone, even people travelling with a van. We’d meant to stay just one night, but wished we could’ve stayed longer.
The staff member I spoke with was friendly, booking was simple, and the after-hours arrival details were right where I’d been told they’d be. It was quiet too, with respectful guests. The amenities were worn but clean and worked fine. My main issue was the price for what you get. The site I was given wasn’t level, so the campervan plumbing didn’t work properly: shower water gathered in one corner and the sink wouldn’t drain. There were a few tufts of grass, but mostly dust and dirt. I get that grass is hard to grow there, though compacted gravel might keep dust from coming into the camper. Quiet and adequate, but well overpriced.
