Mantra Frangipani Broome

For my work trips to Broome, this is a great place to stay. The grounds have a tropical feel and are welcoming, and the staff were friendly. Check-in and check-out were easy. My room was comfortable, though the decor is looking a bit tired and could use a refresh.

The room had a large front patio and BBQ, plus a new washer and dryer that made things feel more like home. It was clean, with modern, high-quality furnishings and new appliances. The bed and premium linens were especially comfortable. I also liked the outdoor shower, even though I wasn’t sure I would at first. I arrived two hours before check-in and could wait in the air-conditioned reception with unlimited sparkling and still water. Staff helped me plan tours, and before I arrived they’d been warm and reassuring about parking despite conflicting details in the app. The attentive service and good facilities made for a welcoming stay that felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend.

The pool area was lovely and we made good use of it, and the staff were friendly and helpful the whole time. We did find it a little unusual that locals seemed to use the pool every day. We booked six nights in a two-bedroom apartment based on the four-star rating and recent Google reviews, so the state of the room was a real disappointment. It felt dated and poorly maintained. The couch and cushions were visibly dirty, torn, dusty smelling, and uncomfortable; I felt I needed a towel to sit on. The bedroom cushions were dusty too, the old blankets weren’t what I expected from a four-star property, and some bedding was ripped. Fans throughout the rooms were extremely dusty, and the curtains were stained and dirty. The facilities have potential, but our room didn’t meet the standard we expected.

We spent three days and two nights here. My time in Broome wasn’t good overall: it felt touristy, very expensive, and unlike other parts of Australia I’ve visited. The bright spot was Mantra Frangipani. Miya and her service team were exceptional, and made our stay feel like being at a second home. I was very happy with the apartment and the service. There are two pools and a small garden, and we loved the outdoor bathroom and shower. It’s about a 25-minute walk or five-minute drive to Cable Beach. Be careful with the front door key, as it can break easily if you leave it in the lock and accidentally shut or open the door. I broke mine during the stay. I don’t want to visit Broome again, but if I do for some reason, I’d stay at Mantra Frangipani.
