I’ve loved Massey Green and its residents through more than 50 years of visits, so I’ve now bought a permanent site for my retirement. The park has a great vibe, and management know everyone by their first names. The grounds and amenities are always spotless. I used to kayak the magnificently clear river every day, with shelter available when it’s windy, and you can’t beat paddling to New Brighton for breakfast. The whole town is flat, so I’ll get a bike to get around. I used to ride at night after work and never felt unsafe. It’s a healthy location too, and Mullumbimby markets often have quality organic goods for less than the local Woolies. I’m due back at the end of March and can’t wait to join the raffles and have fun at the local bowling club, where you can get a good feed for a very reasonable price. I’m so excited to be coming back for good. A big thank you to the office for running the place like everyone is family.

The location is great, and the park is tidy and clean. The small amenities block at the end needs an upgrade, a repaint and refurbishment, as well as more regular cleaning. It also doesn’t seem appropriate for permanent residents to fossick through the recycling bin outside the amenities block.

There’s lovely river frontage, but the park backs onto a very busy, noisy road, so keep that in mind when booking. Caravan sites are quite tight, and some are hard to access.

We visited in the 2025 off season and stayed in a standard two-bedroom cabin. It was a little old, but clean and tidy, with a veranda overlooking the park’s main entrance and exit road. The upgraded river-view cabins are modern and popular, and there are many permanent residents. Food in Brunswick is very expensive, so we made breakfast ourselves and went to Ocean Shores Country Club for dinner. The club is beautiful and large, family friendly, with generous serves, reasonable prices and the best Chinese and Australian meals. Its takeaway is busy too. For other stays, I recommend Atherton Holiday Park and Caravans and Dubbo Discovery Park. Golfers Inn Motel in Tenterfield, Gulgong Caravan Park and Cabins near Mudgee, Discovery Caravan Park Emerald Beach on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Discovery Coolwaters Park in Yeppoon, Kinka Beach, QLD, and Almare Tourist Motel in Ballina.

The cabin was enormous, spotless, well equipped and right on the waterfront, with amazing views. We chose the premium cabin for the two of us, though it would easily suit two couples or a family. My husband and I often come to Brunswick Heads for a quick getaway from the Gold Coast, and we booked Reflections Massy Greene Holiday Park for a three-night weekend last week. The shopping centre and iconic Brunswick Hotel are within walking distance. After this stay, we wouldn’t consider going anywhere else and will definitely return next year. The staff were amazing, and everything was easy from start to finish, with nothing a problem. Thanks from G and C, Gold Coast.
