BIG4 Cane Village Holiday Park

The park was clean and tidy, with a nice pool. The bathrooms were great, roomy, and had lovely showers. There are plenty of ensuite-style rooms, so no waiting around. We had our dogs with us during the trial. We hope dogs will always be allowed, because then we’d definitely come back.

The grounds are well kept, with a lovely garden, and the management are fantastic, friendly and helpful. The toilets and showers are clean and well maintained. It’s an easy walk to a major shopping centre, and there’s a great club across the road. Best park in Bundy, and we couldn’t recommend it more.

We’d booked two villas, but our trip to the Great Barrier was cancelled because of the weather. We got the call around 5:30 and tried repeatedly to contact the property to cancel, including by email. No one was at reception, and we couldn’t reach anyone then. Reception got back to us the next day and said there would be no refund because it was a no-show. They didn’t offer credit or even a partial refund. With weather being changeable, I’d suggest booking somewhere with after-hours reception service.

Our family stayed on a powered tent site, and the park was beautiful and very clean. Each unisex bathroom has a toilet, shower and sink. The laundry was great too, no hunting for coins like at other caravan parks, you just scan the QR code and pay by phone. Staff were all friendly and helpful, and clearly work hard to keep the place looking good. The swimming pool is spotless and spacious, and the camp kitchen has a big BBQ, sink, gas stove and TV. Running a park like this takes work every day of the year, and the staff keep going to give visitors a good stay. A small request for guests: please remember staff aren’t there to clean up after you and your kids. Treat shared areas like home. Flush the toilet, wrap and dispose of things properly, and clean up any mess you leave. Mops, brooms and bins are there for everyone to use. If you stay in a cabin, wash up, sweep and strip the beds. It’s a simple way to say thanks and makes things a bit easier. I’ve seen people leave messes at many parks, and it’s gross for others to deal with. Families travelling to Bundaberg or just passing through should stop for a night or two, I recommend it. Aldi, Coles and Woolworths are all within walking distance across the street. Happy travels!
