The hosts were very gracious, and it’s a peaceful place to stay. The river was low, so mud and weeds made swimming hard, though canoeing was fantastic and I saw 3 large lung fish. It was very dry, and the grass could’ve used some water. There’s no power or water, just a thunderbox. It was $25 per night for a van with 2 people, and dogs are welcome.

There’s loads of room here, with only 4 sites across the huge property. We ended up wanting to stay longer than planned. The river out front is lovely for swimming or taking a free kayak out to enjoy the wildlife. Toni and Pauline are great hosts, and we thought the price was good value. There’s also a nice cabin if camping isn’t your thing, with a great terrace/patio and an amazing view. Highly recommended.

Tony and Pauline made us feel very welcome, and the visit was just what we wanted. We loved the peace and quiet, with great views up the Burnett River from the elevated campsite. It’s very simple camping, with no hot showers, and you need to bring your own drinking water. The place was child free and clothing optional. We’ll certainly be back.

We spotted lungfish, a platypus and water dragons in the Burnett River, plus an echidna at the campsite. The pet-friendly camping area is in a cleared paddock behind the homestead, with 5 spacious sites. There’s no power or water, one long drop toilet and one cold shower. The river is a 500mtr walk downhill from camp. Campfires are allowed, and the friendly, helpful hosts Pauline and Tony live on the property. October 2020.

The canoe Tony & Pauline kindly let me use was a great way to watch Kingfishers doing their thing. The camping areas look out over the beautiful Burnett River, which was exhilarating to swim in, and it felt like a perfect retreat for anyone who appreciates the simple joys of nature. I stopped at Bungadoo Breeze for a couple of nights to break up a long drive north, then came back on the way home. I’m looking forward to visiting again next time I travel that way. Thanks again Tony and Pauline for sharing your little piece of paradise.
