Burnie by the Bay Apartments

We booked two nights but chose to move. The beds were really uncomfortable, and I woke with a sore back. My family felt the same. The set-up was cramped, and the stark white lighting with no dimmers didn’t help. It’s right next to a major road, and the advertising felt misleading. There wasn’t enough space for a family of four. The location was okay for the main Burnie area via Willmot St, but that was all it had going for it.

The Ocean first floor apartment had a great view and was central to basically everything. One bedroom has a nice ocean view, and both bedrooms were good, though the beds weren’t the most comfortable. The bathroom is huge and has a spa bath. The apartment has everything you need, but the cleaning could use some TLC and more attention to detail. It wasn’t bad. The balcony also needed a good clean, though a sweep and mop would sort it.

The kitchen facilities were well set up, and the room was terrific, clean and nicely presented. The bed was comfortable too. Since it’s on Burnie’s main through road, there’s constant traffic noise, including overnight. Logging trucks are very constant.

The beds were comfortable, and the location is great, but it’s noisy whenever you go there. The furniture was old and damaged. Some dining chairs had wobbly legs and swayed so much we couldn’t sit on a couple of them. All the vinyl was torn and looked really shabby. The shower and bathroom were slippery, and proper bathmats are needed. With those issues, it’s not great for elderly people. All of us had bites on our necks and faces, so possibly bedbugs.
