Nobby Beach Holiday Village

A lovely family getaway in the Deluxe Villa 2 bedroom. It had what we needed and was a nice place to stay. The kids were all about the pool and big slide. Miami Markets are just a 7min walk away and worth checking out at night. The weather forecast was pretty dramatic, but everything else went well. Thanks Nobby for the great memories, we’ll definitely visit again.

The one downside is a grumpy older staff member who acts like the fun police. Otherwise, this is a great park in SE Qld, with lots of cabins, good rooms at a decent price, and a family friendly feel. We’ve stayed a few times. The pool is popular with adults and kids alike.

The kids liked the waterslide, though there was no supervision. Our five day stay was disappointing for the price. The beds were fine and the shower was excellent, but we had no service during the five nights, no towel changes, one tea towel, no soap, and no dishwasher liquid. The villa’s security door had a hole and wouldn’t lock. It didn’t feel like the safest place, with permanent residents on site, and the van area was very cramped. With more than one car per two bedroom villa or park site, we had to leave the extra car on the street. No staff member checked whether we were enjoying the stay. The entrance and booking driveway were difficult to manage.

The campsite could have a lot going for it, but our experience was a disaster because of the staff and the state of the facilities. The showers and toilets were filthy and poorly maintained at every time of day, among the worst sanitary facilities we’ve encountered while travelling. Our car developed a mechanical problem, and because we needed it to move our camper trailer, we couldn’t leave and had to extend our stay. The woman at reception was rude and showed no understanding. We asked her to help find someone to move the trailer and to leave a note at reception. She refused and made no effort. She also made us change sites for the extra nights, so we had to pack everything up and set it all up again. Luckily, some kind neighbours helped us move the trailer. Later a man said we had to move again because we were supposedly “over the line.” When we told him we couldn’t move the trailer without the car, he laughed and sarcastically said to “just move it by hand.” That was completely inappropriate and disrespectful. There was no help, empathy, or professionalism. With better staff and basic hygiene, the place could be great, but we don’t recommend it as it is.
