The unit was recently renovated, everything worked properly, and the beds were comfortable. Ruth and Berrick were friendly, accommodating hosts, and they know a lot about healthy living and organic farming. Hideaway Retreat feels tucked into a beautiful forest, yet the main town is close by. It was peaceful and stayed cool in the heat, with tall trees and wild chickens and roosters roaming around. As an Aussie, I found it odd that there are no mosquitoes and supposedly no snakes on the island, but it was a welcome relief. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it.

Ruth and Beresford were wonderful hosts, and the setting felt private and surrounded by nature. The town and National park are within walking distance. Each apartment also comes with a mobile phone for free local calls. We’d definitely stay again.

Our apartment was neat, clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our time on Norfolk Island. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Hideaway Retreat and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

Norfolk Island was wonderful, and I loved the clean, peaceful accommodation and beautiful grounds. I picked fresh fruit from the trees each morning. Thanks to Kerryn for arranging everything for my stay. I’d recommend Hideaway retreat and will definitely come back with my husband for a relaxing break. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Hideaway is peaceful and dark at night, even though town is only a five minute drive or a fifteen minute walk away. There’s a tennis court and plunge pool, and you can cook for yourself or use the BBQ to try the island’s produce. The units were clean, tidy and well equipped. They aren’t serviced daily, but Kerryn gladly brought extra towels when we needed them, and there were beach towels for swimming and snorkeling at Emily Bay. I spent seven nights there recently and had a wonderful time. Kerryn, the manager, was so helpful with suggestions for things to see and do. I couldn’t recommend Hideaway more, and I’ll tell my friends to visit. We hope to return before long. Thanks for your hospitality.
