Shark Bay Seafront Apartments

I really didn't want to leave room 11 on the seafront. The room, service and location were all great. But the cyclone hit, and I especially want to thank KELLY, the young woman who kept me updated hour by hour through the night as the weather worsened, then told me we had to leave. She was a star, and I really appreciated her help as I was getting worried. Many thanks.

Good value for money and in a great location. The rooms were spacious, with a fairly well-equipped kitchen, though it didn't have an egg slice, so I bought one from the IGA next door. The toilet floor could have used a good scrub with bleach.

The apartments are in a great spot and have everything you need, though they could do with an update. John handles reception, housekeeping and whatever else needs doing. He's very friendly, helpful and hard working.

The location is fantastic, with shops nearby and the beach across the road, and the apartment is a good size and self-contained. But it was in really poor condition. I spent the first day cleaning because we’d paid for four nights and needed to make it liveable. There was dust and dirt throughout, including on the shelves and the outdoor clothesline area. The curtains in the main bedroom released so much dust when we drew them that we had to leave the room quickly. The bathroom blinds were broken too. The bathroom itself felt like a converted storeroom, with pipes sticking out, a grimy sink and an empty washing machine space with pipes coming out of the wall. The toilet was blocked, though someone thankfully came to unblock it. The main bedroom had no bedside lamps, no full or mid-length mirror, and no wardrobe. There was only a little open hanging space, so we kept our clothes in our suitcases. The bedding didn’t look clean, and some softer pillow options would have been welcome. The kitchen hand towel looked very dirty and worn. The four-burner gas stove and the TV didn’t work. These apartments need a lot of care and attention, especially for a self-contained stay where everything is meant to be provided and working.
